Call for Art: Annual Trinitarian Gallery Exhibition

Arts Wayland invites artists working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate. There is no theme: though we encourage you to pick new work from the past 3 years that you're excited about.



  • Work may be on any subject matter, but must be appropriate for our community space. Work must be created within the last 5 years, complete, and ready to hang (framed is preferable). 2D or 3D are all welcome. 3D work must be self-supportive and simple to install/assemble. 3D work may also be wall-mountable and may not exceed 30lbs. 

  • Size Restrictions: 2D work or wall-mountable 3D work may be up to 30" wide x 72" tall. You may submit up to two smaller works, though they will be hung vertically (one on top of another), and must be no wider than 30" as a column. We expect a large number of artists this year, so the show will likely be hung salon-style with some stacking. 

  • Any exhibited work is for sale by artists; Arts Wayland takes no commission on sales - only a 10% (members) and 15% (non-members suggested donations.

  • Please email .jpg images of your artworks to  The email subject should read: “Annual Trinitarian Exhibition ”

File Name, Medium, Price and Dimensions of each artwork are required to be included in the body of the e-mail.  (Artwork title is optional.)

File naming requirement is as follows: lastname_firstinitial_imagenumber.jpg.  For example White_J_1.jpg. Please do not use symbols or spaces in the file name.

  • Submissions after April 10th, 2016 will not be accepted.

  • Submission Fee: None

USE RIGHTS: Artists maintain copyright on all of their work. By submission, artists grant The Arts Wayland the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition and other Arts Wayland programs; and for reproduction online and in a print exhibition catalogue. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from the Arts Wayland. Artist’s recognition is provided with any use.

The Brookline Arts Center is pleased to present its second annual ART Off The Wall Exhibition and Fundraiser! The BAC is looking for donations of artwork to help support our mission. Works could include ceramics, paintings, prints, jewelry, mixed media, photography or sculpture.

This year, Gerry Bergstein, artist and former faculty at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, will select all artwork to create a fabulous collection. During the event, individuals who have purchased a Collector’s Ticket will have the opportunity to take home a piece from the collection. In addition, the BAC will hold a silent auction for select works. Artists whose work is chosen by Gerry Bergstein will be included in the exhibition (April 29-May 14, in conjunction with Brookline Open Studios) and in an online gallery.

Submission guidelines:

  • Open to all media. All submissions must be ready to hang, with secure wire.
  • Entry fee $10.00 due as artists drops off artwork for review.
  • Please make checks out to Monique Rancourt Artisan gallery.
  • Gallery Sales : 20% gallery commission, and 80% to the artist.

Submission process

  • Art drop off days: Friday, January 29th & Saturday, January 30th, 12 - 6pm
  • Saturday, January 30th all artists will be notified of their show status
  • Artists who were not accepted, must pick up Sunday, January 31st from 12 - 6pm
  • Closing/ Artist Pickup - Tuesday, March 1st - Thursday, March 3rd, 12 - 6 pm

Opening Night is Friday, February 5th.

Opening night extras - fortune tellers will give short Romantic readings. Our goal is to move beyond the traditional whispers over wine and cheese and create an interesting conversation.

Please be aware of the dates listed, we cannot store artwork that is not picked up on time due to overlapping exhibitions/installations. If you cannot pick up your artwork please make appropriate arrangements to have your work picked up on time (friends, family or co-workers can pick up your artwork for you). If work is not picked up on time, artists will be invoiced $15 per a day in late fees and will not allowed to enter another exhibition until paying their invoices. At the end of the exhibition, staff is not responsible for any pick-up transportation, damage or theft once exhibition concludes.

The Figure: A Juried Art Show

First Thursday Opening: January 7 from 6:00-8:00 pm

This show is open to all 2D and 3D artists whose work studies the figure.  Work must be original and have been completed in the past three years.  The show will be juried by local artist and Umbrella teacher, Bryony Bensly.

To apply, email the following materials to Miranda Aisling Hynes, Studio Arts Coordinator, at by Monday, November 16 at 5:00 pm:

  • High Resolution JPEG images of 3 pieces labeled as follows: LastName_FirstName(1)
  • An image list with size, medium, date, and price
  • An artist statement and CV
  • Non-refundable application fee
    • $35 non-refundable fee for up to 3 pieces.
    • $25 for The Umbrella’s resident artists and staff.

Accepted artists will be notified by Monday, November 23 at 5:00 pm and will need to be able to drop off their work between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on Monday, December 7.

All work must be for sale.  The Umbrella takes 25% of each sale and the balance will be paid at the end of the show. The artist agrees to allow accepted work to remain with the exhibit until the close of the show.  We reserve the right to photograph work for publicity purposes.

About the Juror:

With a B.F.A. in conceptual and installation art, focusing on sculpture, from Dartington College of Art, Devon, England, to an M.F.A. in figurative classical painting, from The New York Academy of Figurative Art, British artist, Bryony Bensly, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students. Well versed in different modalities and techniques and drawing upon the tools she was given to move through creative blocks, she endeavors to support the student to their fullest potential, whilst giving them fundamental tools from which embark. Her strong belief that anyone can create and learn how to draw and paint, just as we learn to read, write and play musical instruments, fuels her passion for teaching. "Healing Fibers: War & Peace" Show at Sprinkler Factory

Healing fibers: War & Peace

Healing Fibers is an annual non-juried initiative thought of by artist Bayda Asbridge. The goal of this project is to discuss political, environmental, gender, racial, medical, human rights and other societal issues by using fiber as a medium for each exhibit. 2014 witnessed the first in a series and the theme was violence against women. With the many violent events around the world, this year’s exhibit will address war and peace.

This art project provides a professional context for artists of all genre to share their work, network with their peers, and connect with artists and arts enthusiasts while addressing issues of importance to them and their communities. Local organizations are invited to participate with a speaker and providing literature about their services to the community.

Artists are welcome to participate with one or two pieces addressing this year’s theme.  Art can be any medium (drawing, sketching, painting, mixed media, collage, prints, photography, sculpture, craft, weaving, assemblage, etc.) as long as art is mounted/ printed on fiber or contains fibers, threads in its final presentation. At the same time writers, poets, speakers, veterans etc. are welcome to participate in the event too. For the second category, if you wish to participate,  please contact Barbara Roberts at


Entry Fee: $15 for one or two pieces. Payment is made by check addressed to Bayda Asbridge or by paypal through her email address:

·       Please label each piece on the back with labels provided with entry form. 

·       Artwork must be original, completed in the last two years and wasn’t exhibited at Healing Fibers before.

·       Artwork must be exhibition-ready, with any required hardware, picture-hanging wire, and framing as appropriate. No saw-toothed hangers or clip frames will be accepted.

·       Two-dimensional works are limited to 100”/ 250cm/ 8.5ft in any direction including frame (exceptions might be considered, email bayda).

·       Any single element of a 3-D work is limited to 40 pounds.

·       Artists are responsible for delivery and pick-up of the work, and insurance to and from Sprinkler Factory. Please be aware that the gallery is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator.

·       Online submission: send high resolution images by email to  Label each image with your name, the title & dimensions of the piece.

·       All art will be screened for acceptance into the exhibition to ensure that it fits the theme and the applied conditions.


·       Please note that even though we strive to handle all art with extreme care, we assume no responsibility for loss or damage to any submitted work of art for any reason, before, during, or after the exhibition. Insurance protection is the responsibility of each artist.

·       Sales are at the artist’s arrangements. Each art piece will carry a label with the artist’s contact details.


Exhibit:  1st November - 29th November 2015 (gallery is open on weekends Sat. & Sun from 1:00-3:00 PM open to the public and for extra events (to be announced closer to the time).
