Photography allows us to see truths, beauty and mysteries contained in the world around us that usually go unnoticed or unappreciated as we hurry through our daily routines.
In the case of wildlife, my special interest is in trying to capture moments in the life of an animal--e.g., a behavior, an expression or a movement--that help us to understand that all living things--humans and animals-are connected to each other in fundamental ways and interdependent. I am a self-taught photographer and a member of the Gateway Camera Club.
My special interests (other than trying to capture memorable images of our growing family) are water birds especially those inhabiting Long Pond in the Belgrade Lakes region in Maine which include Loons, Great Blue Herons, Osprey and Eagles. I also enjoy travel photography and the exterior and interiors of historic homes and buildings.
