This workshop is part lecture and part hands-on exercises, using supplied materials. Learn how street photographers make their photos pop, designers make ads and packaging memorable, and artists control the messaging in their images. Utilizing techniques inspired by Joseph Albers, we’ll complete exercises to enable a better understanding of how Rothko’s color field paintings emerge, Van Gogh’s paintings shimmer, and how you can control your visual creations.

Student level: Beginner, Intermediate

How to manage a composition to make it communicate a desired expression.
