Sample Videos of Yong Chen Watercolor Instruction

Yong Chen, Watercolor Events at Arts Wayland

Usually we use a pencil to plan and layout before beginning a watercolor painting. In this lesson, I demonstrate without the pencil planning step, and directly start the watercolor painting on the paper with a brush. It is a different thought process.

Yong Chen is a new instructor to Arts Wayland. He is a college-level teacher with solid instruction skills in teaching watercolor. His online video instruction is a new opportunity for area artists.

There is always the challenge and biggest fear in watercolor painting, that is water - when to use more water, when use less, and when should you paint when the paper wet or should you wait. There is some simple logic, and you can learn it with fun.
